Mitchell’s story begins in Newport Beach Southern California where he grew up swimming with Irvine Novaquatics and then made the decision to go to Culver Military Academy.

Over time, his journey has been shaped by his experiences with Culver Academies, Princeton, and swimming all feeding into each other. Culver Academies gave him the discipline and leadership side of who he is. Being Regimental Commander, the highest ranking cadet, while also competing at a high level in swimming taught Mitchell about responsibility, standards, and how to lead by example. Princeton took that and pushed it further. As captain, he’s cared a lot about helping set the standard for the team.

Through 2025, Mitchell has taken some big jumps as a swimmer, and that progress is what has made the next stage feel real. Between the World University Games, the World Cup, Ivy titles, Princeton records, and putting himself among the top U.S. men in multiple events, Mitchell has proven he can compete at a high level. Even with so many accomplishments, he still sees himself on a journey.

As an elite but accessible athlete, Mitchell is focused on the road to LA 2028 and is excited to see where that takes him.
